Freedom Corner
You can help! Participate in our Paver Program
The Freedom Corner Veterans Tribute is located at the intersection of High and McCarty Streets. It is a very fitting acknowledgement of the service and sacrifices of our nation's armed forces: past, present and future. The tribute features a 14' tall stone and granite monument, topped by a bronze eagle in flight.
A feature of this tribute is the personalized bricks and stones that have been placed to create the walkway to the monument. You can purchase one of these to recognize a service member or veteran in your family. Details are available on our Pavers page.
Beautification
The JCESBA beautification committee is considering projects to improve the landscape of the east side. If you are interested in becoming involved, email the committee chair, Chris Duren.
Roundabouts
A joint venture between the Jefferson City East Side Business Association and American Legion Post 5.
The Jefferson City East Side Business Association and American Legion teamed up and created patriotic displays in the two roundabouts on East McCarty Street. The displays promote American patriotism, economic growth, and pride in Jefferson City. The north roundabout features a six-foot tall eagle statue atop a pedestal of stone. The south roundabout features a 40 foot tall flag pole with a pentagon-shaped monuments with patriotic messages around the base.
